Kathy Arts brings invaluable experience from years of teaching middle school math, equipping students with essential skills and confidence in the subject. Her sound and balanced judgment, combined with her ability to collaborate effectively, allows her to recognize and leverage the diverse strengths of team members.

Kathy cultivates a supportive and dynamic organizational environment. A retired educator from the Kettle Moraine School District, she works in her spare time as a substitute teacher for special education students at Adeline Montessori School in Oconomowoc. In addition to her long-standing volunteer work with Oasis in various roles, she also serves as a volunteer and board member at Retzer Nature Center. Before joining The Oasis Project Board, Kathy spent two years as our Program Director.

Kathy and Oasis Founder, Jan Frans, were on the same teaching team for many years. Jan recruited Kathy as a tutor at the inception of the program in 2015, and she has been involved with The Oasis Project ever since. Kathy states that, “Working with kids is a passion of mine. I enjoy watching kids grow as learners.”

Kathy loves spending time outdoors and really enjoys kayaking and hiking. She spends a lot of time with her family up north at their cottage in Bayfield, Wisconsin.

Kathy is always happy to connect about Oasis and supporting students. Reach her at karts@oasisprojectwi.org to get involved!
